Welcome to M. Clark Photography!

My name is Marlenda Clark, and I am a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) specializing in maternity/newborn/family heirloom photography, located in Lubbock, Texas, and serving the Panhandle, South Plains, and Permian Basin of West Texas in addition to Eastern New Mexico.

You may ask what the difference is between a regular photographer and a CPP. The CPP accreditation is only available to members of the Professional Photographers of America who have passed a 100 question exam and subsequently had images evaluated by the Certification Committee, proving they have both the technical knowledge and photographic skills necessary to meet the minimum qualifications as established in accordance with the Institute of Credentialing Excellence. Once certified, each CPP must obtain 15 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) over the following three years or retake the CPP exam in order to maintain their certification.

Similarly, the differences characterized between an heirloom portrait and any other portrait has to do with the knowledge and skills of the photographer. Heirloom portraits go far beyond a regular portrait's recording of your likeness by capturing your unique story, your life's special moments in a timeless way that generations to come can relive those immortal memories held within the canvas.

I absolutely LOVE being able to capture special moments in people's lives, especially the special moments surrounding the birth of a child. As I have grown older, the more I have come to realize that as we age, our mind's eye is not always as clear as we want it to be, even though we can remember with perfect clarity how we felt surrounding certain memories. Pictures are a way to help refocus our mind's eye so we can put those clearly remembered feelings with specific images that have gone blurry in our minds so we can once again relive those special moments.

These images convey a sense of love, worth, and belonging to all who view them. There has not been a time where this has been more important than now. With the daily stresses in our lives, which have been compounded by the COVID-19 pandemic, our families need to know more than ever before that they are second only to God.

Our families are being attacked on every side by the father of lies, and I believe the desire was placed in my heart to provide heirloom family portraits as a means of defense against these attacks that threaten to destroy our very homes.

I hope you will join me in standing up for our families by scheduling your family portrait session today.
